Collegiately, Ryan competed for Central Michigan University – a Division I program. While at CMU, he studied Biomedical Sciences and Chemistry and was a two-time Varsity letter-winner for the Chippewas. Coach Quinn was also the Wrestling representative for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, where his involvement aided to bridge relations between CMU’s athletic programs and the Community. Ryan Quinn was a two-time state qualifier for Oak Hills (Cincinnati, OH) and graduated from Oak Hills in 2010.
Ryan Quinn has been actively coaching Wrestling since 2014. His first two years of coaching include volunteer experiences at the High School and Youth levels – Montabella High School and Michigan West Wrestling Club. As Ryan continued his education at Bethel College (IN), he was named the Head Middle School and Varsity Assistant Coach for Niles Community Schools. As head middle school coach for Ring Lardner, Coach Quinn developed young wrestlers in all technical aspects of the sport. Coach Quinn also helped lead Niles to a top 4 team finish in the State of Michigan (Division II), as well as coached two all-state student athletes (6th & 2nd). Upon the completion of the 2016-2017 wrestling season, Coach Quinn was named the Head Wrestling Coach of Ancilla College. In his one-year stint at Ancilla, Coach Quinn managed to have four NWCA NJCAA Academic All-Americans and one NJCAA National Qualifier.
In his most recent post, Head Wrestling Coach for Oak Hills High School (Cincinnati, OH, 2018 - 2021), Coach Quinn had five GMC conference placers and champions, four sectional placers and five sectional champions, nine district qualifiers, a 2x district champion, and a 2x state qualifier in his three years.
In his tenure at Lakeshore, Coach Quinn has helped achieve four state champions, six state placers, 2x Team Conference Championships, 2x Team District Championships, and an Elite 8 appearance.
Coach Quinn looks forward to developing young men and women in the sport of wrestling at Lakeshore. He is grateful for the opportunity and looks forward to many successful years coaching an outstanding Lakeshore program. Lancer Up!
Coach Swab was an All-State wrestler while attending Mason High School. Matt helped contribute to his team making 3 straight MHSAA Division 2 Team State Finals appearances, where they won 2 Team State Championships in 2003 and 2005. Matt went on to wrestle at Olivet College and earned a BA in Criminal Justice in 2009.
After college, Coach enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy where he and his family lived in Washington State. Upon coming back to Michigan from the military, Matt began coaching youth wrestling in 2014 and has been active in coaching since.
Outside of coaching wrestling, Coach Swab is a Farm Bureau Insurance agent and has a business in Bridgman.
Coach Girton comes to the Lancer Wrestling program with 19 years of Strength and Conditioning experience. He has served roles in the NFL, MLB, DI, DII, and High School levels. In 2017 & 2018 Coach was a finalist for NSCA's High School Strength Coach of the Year. This is Coach Girton's first year assisting Coach Quinn at Lakeshore High School.
