Middle School Coaches

Coach Sam Hanau is the head Lakeshore Middle School wrestling coach. Sam is involved in several roles outside of Lakeshore.  Sam serves as the Director of High School Development for Michigan USA Wrestling.  After graduating from Lakeshore High School in 2011, Sam was an NCAA D2 All American at Pitt Johnstown and wrestled for legendary Coach Pat Pecora who became NCAA wrestling's all time winningest coach in 2020.  Outside of coaching wrestling, Sam is a veteran Edward Jones Financial Advisor and has a business in Berrien Springs, MI.
 

Coach Urias comes to Lakeshore High School as a high school science teacher and will be joining the wrestling program this year, assisting the Middle School program. Prior to Lakeshore, Coach Urias served as a teacher and a coach in both Utah and Michigan. During that time, he has filled various roles at different levels including: high school, high school girls, and middle school - head and assistant experiences. Originally from Wayland, MI, Coach Urias wrestled through high school, gaining wrestling experience in both freestyle and folkstyle.
